Bringing Out the Dead
, em Português Por um Fio, é um filme de 1999 da dupla Martin Scorsese/Paul Schrader. Esta dupla realizador/argumentista estava já bem testada em Taxi Driver de 1976 e em Raging Bull de 1980 e voltou a funcionar. Nicolas Cage tem um papel à medida dele e tanto a Patricia Arquette como o John Goodman ou os menos conhecidos Ving Rhames e Tom Sizemore têm bons papeis secundários.O filme conta a estória de um paramédico (Frank Pierce - Nicolas Cage), agora alcoólico, perseguido pelo fantasma de uma pessoa que não salvou.
